1. Make it self-explanatory
When you’re creating a site, the web-page should be obvious and self-explanatory. Your job is to get rid of the user’s query and make it easy to understand and use.
A clear structure, moderate visual clues and easily recognizable links can help users to find their path to their aim.Design a simple and intuitive website and try to understand the query which will be appeared by the user. List out the query and make sure that the number of query is close to 0 is a most important task of a designer.
2. Don’t lose user's patience
In every project, try to keep your user requirements minimal when you are going to offer your visitors some service or tool. Lesser the action for the users, the more likely a random visitor is to actually try it out. If you have a long web form and any visitor is visiting your website for the first time, he will never come back again. Let users explore the site and discover your services without forcing them to share their private data. It’s not viable to force users to enter an email address to test the feature.
Users would only like to share their email address if they’d seen the feature work. While designing a website, designer should keep in mind that subscriptions and registrations are not required at first, ideally remove all barriers. A user registration alone is enough of an obstruction to user navigation to cut down on incoming traffic.
3. Focus on user's attention
As websites provide both static and dynamic content, some points of the user interface attract attention more than others do. Obviously, images and sentences marked as bold are more eye-catching and more attractive than plain text.
The human eye is can instantly recognize edges, patterns and motions. This is why video-based advertisements and attractive images are extremely influencing and attracting user's attention in the market these days.
4. Aim for feature exposure
Let the user see clearly what functions are available is a fundamental principle of successful user interface design that will lead the visitors through the site content in a very simple and user-friendly way. It hardly matters how this is achieved. What matters is that the content is well-understood and visitors feel comfortable with the way they interact with the system.
5. Effective writing must be done
It is very essential to keep the content of a website effective in order to make a good website. Without a powerful writing we can’t imagine a website to be well-designed. It is necessary to use the writing style which is preferred and suitable for the user. Promotional writing and long text blocks without images should be avoided, keywords marked in bold or italics are not effective. Long and exaggerated language is not attractive and shouldn’t be used.
An optimal solution for effective writing is to
• Use brief phrases and come to point,
• Use bulleted lists, categorized content, use multiple heading levels and visual elements that will make your writing more specific and effective.
6. Keep it simple
The “keep it simple”-principle should be the primary goal of site design. Despite of design user will prefer more informatics website. User is more interested in information than the design. Don't make it complex; try to keep it as simple as you can.
From user point of view the website with advertisement and any unnecessary content make the website complex and tough so try to avoid these things and make is user friendly.
